Live Edge Slab Tables

Most of the timber in our yard came down in Victoria — storm damage, wind fall, a tree removed from a property, timber pulled out of a demolition. It ends up with us rather than in a skip, and from there we work with you tofigure out what it should become.

Dining tables are one of the things we love making most. There’s something about a big slab of timber in the middle of a room that just works — especially when you know where it came from and why it’s here.

The process is straightforward. We mill the log, dry it, flatten and sand the slab, finish it, and work with you on a base that suits your space and how you live in it. The photos give you a sense of how that journey looks — from a log through to a finished table sitting in someone’s home.

Every table is different. The species, the width, the character of the grain, the shape of the live edge — all of that comes from the tree, not from us. We try to make the most of what’s there rather than engineer it into something it’s not.
